MK Thunder played a thrilling ED1 South playoff game against Basingstoke Bufallo this evening, losing 3-4.

MK Lightning slaughtered Peterborough Phantoms 10-0 last night in the first leg of the ENPL Playoff Final in their last home game of the season and their final chance at silverware.

Again the MK rink was noticeably less than full - how are the team going to compete when Wimbledon are in town?

Attended the first leg of the ENPL Premiere/Challenge (?) Cup final last night at MK. That was the first time I'd seen Peterborough this season. Lightning beat the Phantoms 4-2.

Turnout was pretty low considering it was a final with a fair number of empty seats and unsold tickets. Next Saturday is Lightning's last home game of the season, so lets hope numbers improve. If they don't, a move up to the new Elite league doesn't look at all sensible.

Stuart Hughes, a mate of mine who normally puts together the ice hockey pages on the BBC Sports Website has been injured in Iraq. The camera man he was working with was killed instantly by a landmine. Stuart suffered leg injuries and is being treated in a US military hospital.
