Just finished a prototype field power supply for the Asus Eee notebook computers we are contemplating using for our wireless geology field trips to Scotland later this year. It uses a 7Ah 12v battery plus a 3A variable-voltage regulator set to 9.5v. I spotted the irony in using lead-free solder in a project that uses a lead-acid battery.
